Job Summary:

The Accounts Payable Specialist supports the organization in the processing of accounts payable and purchase orders for the business. The role helps the business manage these transactions to support the organization’s mission, goals, and objectives.

Job Description

Essential Functions

• Execute all phases of accounts payable including matching invoices to purchase orders, checking for proper approval, data entry, printing and matching checks, and filing.
• Work with external vendors, including preparing credit applications for approval and delivery to vendors.
• Complete reconciliation of vendor statements and resolution of discrepancies.
• Work with teams across the business to resolve discrepancies and ensure payment is processed.
• Complete appropriate research to resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain organization standards, and work collaboratively with team members in accounting and beyond.
• Maintain a high standard of work, and complete assigned work within the deadlines.
• Be knowledgeable of and ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Requirements

Required Skills:

Education

• Must have a High School Diploma or Equivalent..

Experience

• Must have at least one year of experience with accounts payable and purchase orders.

Knowledge and Skills

• Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in written format.
• Must have the ability to work independently in a detailed and accurate manner.
• Must have strong knowledge and understanding of the general ledger.
• Strong mathematical, reading, and writing skills.
• Computer skills (Basic Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and E-mail).

• Must be bondable.
