Job Summary:

The Salvage Associate will grade or sort, and prepare for salvage sales materials that have been determined to be of non-store quality or that have been cycled through the retail system and have remained unsold.

Job Description

Essential Functions

• Sort product into categories for Salvage or for Recycling.
• Grade donations to determine if the items are salvage, recycling or disposal.
• Use pallet jack and/or forklift to move containers onto trucks for shipment.
• Follow instructions of the supervisor and to follow all Standard Operating Procedures for the specific job.
• Weigh containers and keep documentation of processed salvage materials.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Be knowledgeable of and follow company policies and procedures, as well as legal requirements, at all times.
• Regular, reliable attendance, as defined in Goodwill’s attendance policy.

Knowledge and Skills

• Able to complete tasks regularly using manual dexterity.
• Able to get along well with others and must be a team player.
• Able to follow verbal and written instructions for sorting salvage and recycle items.
• Communicate effectively with other employees.
• Possess basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
• Possess basic reading skills.
